Appreciate your comments,Mr.Tate, It's was my first intention to read such a message as under water. A poor man that keeping his mouth hitting against the floor to attract the people passing by. the percentage of giving money to the metal bowl are as high as 25%. Guangzhou GDP is higher than whole of Russia. I only see this images in this area for more than 2 weeks here. It's getting much lesser and lesser compare 10 years ago.!

I was hoping there would be some description with this image. My assumption is that the person on the ground is a beggar - the metal pan can makes this clear. This is likely a stunt to provide pity and to theoretically make money. The others are people passing by who have seen this more than once in that area and are essentially trained to ignore it. The way it fits the challenge is that being underwater is another term for being in debt - also there is staining on the steps that cascade - this is another use of water - and the bottom of the stairs is under that as well. It is quite a splendid capture that deserves the egg:
