|I spent several hours out in the sun, finding ant hills, pushing a stick into them, and drawing a serpentine with honey onto paper lying nearby.
Nobody came. There were many ants... of all sizes.
Only one bit me. Thank you, Ants.
But, none wanted my honey until... one fire ant hill.
They were all over it! Yipppeee, says I.
I'll come back out in twenty minutes and shoot them in a serpentine!
Twenty minutes passed, I went out... umbrella over my head for the sun on my sweet, faithful camera that I abuse... and... They covered that honey! Yes!
But... dang it! The "s" had run in two places.
It was more like an "f" and a "z" had baby honey.
So, I figured that the cardboard had to be on a solid, level surface instead of the grass.
Found no ant beds near a solid, level surface.
Then, I remembered my battle trying to keep the ants out of our outside dog's food on the back steps! Yes! I'll put some honey on the back steps of our house! That will make our Orkin man happy!
So, I built it.
And, they came.
But, my "s" was WAY too big.
The ants were just blobs by the time they all got downsized to 1200 pixels.
Waited for them to come again.
Finally, made an "s" about 1.5 inches long.
And... here we have it. For what it's worth...
I haven't contributed anything to my DPL team so far, although I've tried.
Please like my ants. Pretty please? With
sugar honey on top?
