A last-minute idea and submission since I haven't entered in a long time and this seemed like a fun challenge. Just some roses shot through shower glass with a Canon 50mm lens. I thought it provided a cool "painterly" look, although I'm not sure if folks will think its a Photoshop effect or if they will "recognize" the shower glass effect...

This is a direct-from-camera shot, aside from cropping and resizing.

The white background is intentional, to simulate an unpainted part of the "canvas".

Well, I really like this one a lot. Tough competition, hugh?

I liked this image because of its directness. I would have gone with it myself with pride.

Excellent. The not-quite-white background really holds this together and the colours on the flowers/leafs are perfect.

Looking at my patio furniture last night as I pondered this challenge I realized how you got this effect. Very nice, but the shower wall is too white, perhaps a pastel towel in the background would have lessened the contrast.

Very simplistic approach, yet very effective.
Met the challenge head on!
Nicely Done! ((9))

Water drops on glass? I hadn't thought of that before. The whites are pleasant without becoming a distraction by being to hard on the eyes. Thanks for entering. Can't wait to read the notes.

I think this would have worked better with the flowers on a colored background.

Very neat filter effect. I like the impressionistic feel and the colors. Good job.

Brilliant idea with the shower glass to break up the beautiful image. It is definately an impressionists picture. Gorgeous. (9)

this is a beautiful image but with floral bouquets and impressionism I tend to image some sort of tapestry background, way darker and less distortion, however this is very nice! would give it an 8 if i could vote.

Looks like a reflection in wavy surface, very innovative interpretation. If so, congratulations for discovering the method.

returning for comments.
A simple and effective effect to create a lovely suggested image that is identifiable and a pleasure to look at. Bumping up.

Good try but I just feel that if there are two components to this photograph (the original image and the camera technique/distortion/filter) then together they don't amount to more than the sum of their individual parts.

this is ok, but i would like it more if it had a lot more detail. the colors, lighting, and general composition look like they provided a great foundation, but the lack of detail fails to take me further.

An interesting flower shot, which I'm assuming was taken through textured glass, or is a water reflection. I think the white background stops this from being really exceptional... the composition is just a little plain as it stands. Nice painted effect though. 6
