Challenge: Black & White II (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE A1
Location: Bristol, England
Date: Nov 14, 2004
Aperture: 3.5
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/10
Date Uploaded: Nov 14, 2004

Just a simple photograph of some glasses. It was just given a boost with Curves to make it a little more high-key. I tried to retain the bearest amount of detail in the pair on the left so that their shape could still be discerned.

I love the composition, the grain, everything. Jack daniels should buy it as a promotional picture. 10 of course.

You need more contrast, I see the white, but where's the black? use a sheet to get rid of the corner in the background. I'd also suggest doing a study of just one of them, the repitition was a nice idea but it gets in the way and jsut begins to clutter the peice up.

A little grainy and overexposed for my taste.

too harsh looking for my tastes

A bit too grainy for my liking, and the transparency creating doubled images on the left is uncomfortable to view.

I line the overexposer, but a more even exposure would help

I admire that the lettering is very clear while the light is so strong from the left of the foto. The focus is great. Nicely executed.

yes please. :) (though it's "Gentleman Jack" for me this evening). this kind of shot tends to get hammered on DPC - high key, grainy, a little off the beaten path...all the things i love in a photo that get 4s around here.

you get a 7 from me, and a high five.
