Rememberence Sunday. One old soldier pays tribute to his pals who never came home.

This old soldier was sitting by himself before the parade started. The sun caught him and he bowed his head like this for a while, I like to think that he was remembering his pals who didn't make it, who knows?

It seems like the pose and expression means different things to different people.

Artyste said the exposure seemed a little soft and I agree. This and a few others turned out that way from the days shoot and I was disapointed with some others which would have been good shots. Since then I've adjusted the autofocus points on my 300D so there's only the centre point used. I'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the comments and your votes. My best score to date.

I really like this the colors are bright and bold and yet the somberness is well portrayed here. Only thing I would like to see different is the legs of the chairs need to be a little less in focus. They are distracting, other than that I really like this. Nice take on the challenge.

Congratulations on your 18th placing with this lovely guy catching a little nap.lol Not so, as he is smiling. A touching image with more meaning than seen at one glance.

A lovely candid that captures the moment well. A little tightly cropped I think but otherwise perfect. 9

This was a very moving shot - excellent composition and great capture of the private moment. Aptly titled...a truly "wow" image.

Looks like even "heroes" get tired. A nice shot, but the exposure is a little off, blowing out texture detail in the jacket. Focus also seems a little soft.

Great shot, it would be nice if he could have looked more towards the camera.

I'd love to see a bit more of the man's face. But like the pic a lot anyway :)
