| Terrific image and well deserving of the Blue. The theme was sports. Nowhere did the challenge description specify action. If this doesn't represent a sports theme, I have *NO* idea what does. Doesn't matter what anyone else's interpretation may be. Besides..... Obviously the voters were in agreement that this is a spectacular image that met the challenge. Congrats! |

I had rented the stage, and had reached out to a couple Dojo's in an effort to get a pair of Kendo warriors. At the last minute they fell thru and I posted a 'Casting Call' on my FB page for someone to help with with my Young Athletes project. Sequoia Magdalena hit me back and said he'd help. He's a Sophomore at ND High School in ShermanOaks CA. Playing wide out and Free Safety. A SWEET kid that had a hard time giving me a 'look'. Nothing like the kid that I see in his highlight reels who is a terror at FreeSafety. Thanks Sequoia! |
Thanks for clarifying :-) - I now close to zero about American Football and had no idea who Sequoia Magdalena is, and thought you had entered the big league with some famous athlete :-). Whoever, whatever, I love this image. Really, really cool.

| This is obviously photographed by a professional, I'm guessing Skip. I much prefer action shots, but I can still appreciate the time and effort that it took to set this up. Can easily be seen on the front cover of a sports magazine, top pick easily. |

nah...
If the challenge was 'studio portrait' or 'sports portrait' you would have a winner!
But, IMHO, without a verb, this doesn't really say 'sports' to me. I can give you points for technical proficiency, for sure, but not for anything else.
Just wondering, though, whether you'd considered trying some other 'action' type poses... |
