Initial impact: I like how you've abstracted this to the hands giving and getting only. Good repeating patterns in the hands and soup pans too, as well as the trays give a strong graphic element to this image.
The background might have been managed better, somehow removing or reducing the impact of the red chairs - if possible a more 'overhead' view would have assisted with this. The lighting seems a bit rough and ready - on camera flash ? It has left you with some quite harsh blown areas on the foreground sandwich and the shadows in the background.
In general, I think good seeing and a bit of work on the lighting and more attention to the background would make this a really strong image. |

I'm actually very happy with the result. I believe it has some great elements, it is techniqually poor, lighting, background clutter etc.
I can now deliver the CD with all the photos as promissed to them to help encorage others to join them each week.
FYI they are keen to visit the site to see their photo in action.
My thanks to the Volunteers, Bob |

I really thought this picture would do better. It is very powerful in my eyes. I hope you are happy with it, scores are just numbers.

Great photo. I like the concept of your title and the way this photo focuses on the giving and receiving hands -- as opposed to the entire person. |

Great lighting. The age of the hands give it a lot of character. |

like the concept but for the sake of clarity and more drama and emotional appeal would try and focus on only one or two elements, two hands on one bowl or just a hand offering an item close up. remember when you chose this type of shot you are telling a story and trying to evoke emotion. this a bit tocluttered and the background being so in focus makes the foreground too confusing need a bit of separation like use of lighting or shorter depth of field |

great subject. I like your focus on the hands and the food. The image is a bit busy - I would like to see a shot that came in closer and at an angle that avoind the jumble in th background. More even lighting would be better too - too bright and harsh on the right , while dark and lacking contrast on the left. |

My style, outside of DPC, is mostly PJ so I love this shot. People like that really are the unsung hereos of the world. I've done some humanitarian work and it's great to see that some people really appreciate us. Great image, I hope it does well.
