The shiras bull moose is a serial monogamist...one cow at a time. This was his mission today, as he tracked a cow across the lake and into the pond area. This behavior differs from the bull elk gathering and guarding a harem of cows. It's a function of the moose's forest/wetland habitat vs. the elk's open glacial meadows.
