 This was meant to be for the DOF challenge but I did not set my camera to JPG so I had to reshoot and then I decided to put this into the Jobs challenge. Glad I did.

I was exactly the same as you (still am in certain cases) the best thing to do is to simply ask "Hey, hello there, would you mind if I take your photograph please"? they can only say yes or no.

Sometimes they ask what it is for and usually I say "I'm retired and this is what keeps me sane".
