It feels like a while since I shot a macro, but I suppose it isn't that long ago. I suppose I'll have fallen for the seduction of the sudden appeal of close-up photography, rather than properly considering the impact on the voters :-)

This is something close to my heart - or at least, close to my right hand, during most of my working life. My Bahco 9" adjustable spanner - this one's been with me through thick and thin, as well as through most of Europe and any number of gigs and shows for about four years now. It was only with the advent of the sensibly deigned multi-tool that the 'AJ', as we know them, lost its poition as the most indispensable tool in one's armoury.

It's worked with David Bowie, has this thing :-)

The lighting is actually the same as the psychedelic kitchen shot: using my laptop's TFT screen as a softlight, tool placed on the keyboard.

Composition here is really incredibly strong isn't it? That combined with the detail in the texture just blows me away. nd yet I'm just looking at a spanner! Will wonders never cease? Nice work!

A large dose of my "NI trick" would have had this in the top ten
Shame on you for being so dull and boring :)

Seriously !!!...A very refreshing shot that deserved a high placing.

Solid composition, even though it feels a little robust for my taste (probably the centered diagonals). Contrary to about 500 camera owners that have joined this household inventory challenge you have presented, with some grace, a nicely toned objet with caracter and history.

Excuisite texture! Not to mention great composition and interesting subject. One of the best so far, the first (and possibly only) 10.

Good shot, clearly a macro. I like the industrial feel of the subject and I think the exposure and post-processing subtly reinforces that. Good!
