There's a trade-off here between wanting the mushroom in the shot and wanting to see the detail in the ants. I would prefer seeing the addition detail in the ants.
What a cool image. Nice job darkening the background to highlight your subject better. I might suggest cropping out a bunch of the right side of the image, as it doesn't add any value.
Amazing scene well taken, I love the framing and that you have kept mushroom completely. There is quite a lot of negative space but it compensates with the overall colors. An 8 from me and in my top 5
