Never liked these types of topics but they are quite…challenging.
So here is my image, not my favorite, almost minimal editing save for cropping, some curves and a slight warming of the tones on the right.

I'll agree to that! *sigh* Not much fun for me either.

I like your composition, but I think the cup is a negative distraction.
