I shot this on the same "Foliage, Fences, Extended Free Study" session, which is currently one of the worst paying DPC Shooting sessions I've had this year (almost) :\
My girlfriend Giulia, who is a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki's work, had the brilliant idea of bringing the Totoro-shaped cape I gave her as a "side present" for last year's Christmas.
Since Totoro is the Keeper of the Forest, I thought about this simple, humble homage to Miyazaki's film, となりのトトロ (which is Tonari No Totoro, My Neighbor Totoro).
I didn't realize this was an extended editing until sisto told me; I was sure I read "standard"...
So I thought: why not having some fun with this.
But I was drown by lots and lots of work, so I had, as usual, very little time to edit this.
And this is the result!
I hope you'll like it.
This is the one I was meant to enter, before noticing the "extended" ruleset.
Cheers!

Ok, I'm really loving this, but I so much want it to be darker/moodier. It's wonderful, but seems incredibly bright... 7 as is, but I think it could have gone up to a 9. It's so close...
Thank you for the feedback Wendy!
Being this a tribute tu Miyazaki's work, I wanted to give it a "dreamy" and fantasy feeling, if this were a "regular" forest shot with a "regular" distracting elements I'd have made this much darker, as you suggested.
But I'm glad you liked the overall idea, and again, thank you for stopping by and commenting!
