Photographer’s Notes
Left over Halloween candy made a fine subject but I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to punch up the reflections but couldn’t do it in Photoshop due to editing rules. Spraying water just melted the shell on the M&Ms. Cooking oil ran off too quickly. Honey was viscous enough to stay put long enough to take the picture.
I’ll probably get comments about shallow DOF but for the record, it’s on purpose because I wanted to focus attention on the highly reflective honey and its shape as it drips down the M&Ms.

don't like the shallow dof. intentional or not, this is hard to look at. maybe if the lighting wasn't so strong? or maybe, if the foreground subject was razor sharp?

Creative idea, though I think I would like the shot more if the sharp depth of field ran from the front of the pile to just behind the top brown M&M, though I know on these small scales that can be hard.

Too blurry in foreground --- wet m&m's --- don't see the point.

Very nice DoF and lighting. I think a border would have finished this off nicely.

Not to interesting of a subject to me but we were limited on what to take. I just don’t see the association between honey and M&M’s. Your focal point seems to be on the honey leaving an out of focus foreground and background which distracting in this shot. Seems that only about a 1/5th of your photo is in focus. Good attempt.

Wow! Almost felt like the liquid was still spilling while the image was loading. Really good focus, and a very creative composition.. 9

Greeeat...I just had 2 candy shots in a row. Now I *have* to hit the vending machine. By the way, this shot is quite sexy. Don't know why. Must be the green ones ;) 6 I'm not too hot about the DOF but it was well exposed.

Interesting take on the M&M's, which seem to be a popular subject this time around. The honey is an original element. :)
