Incredible...

This is a great image. You also stand out since it's an excellent example of a cpativating photo using pastel colors, rather than bold colors.

Thanks for all your comments. I must say I didn't expect this photo to do all that well as I think the colours are quite washed out. The composition pleased me though. As my first entry since July I am happy! The birds are flamingos in Lake Nakuru in Kenya. I was there attending a workshop on land problems and grabbed a couple of hours to visit the National Park. All is not well though and the environment is under threat. Read a recent press story here.

wow. too bad the contrast is so low... that makes it a 7 instead of 8 or 9 in my book

What I like:
-damn what an interesting picture
-damn what nice composition
-damn what colours
-damn what perspective
What I dislike:
-Well I dislike me for not beeing able to shoot a pic like that :)

I give it a 10. It is striking in the form and also in the situation it conveys.

more contrast would have been nice

Wow! Are those flamingos? I find this shot extremely interesting. You can sit back and see a great abstract with very nice "S" curves, great texture and wonderful colors, and then lean in and see the reality or detail of water, birds and shoreline. Very creative. Awesome, one of my favs for sure.

i like it -- very interesting ... wish the color could have a bit more saturation, but that could be due to time-of-day you were shooting (birds flock on their own schedule, unfortauntely) or your glass .....

That is QUITE amazing, but without your title I'd have had no idea - perhaps algae. I feel the photo needs to strongly meet the challenge without the help of the title. 4
