I gave this a 5 in voting and I think the fact that it's a duotone, and not b/w, is one reason; the next would be that 'melting brain' as described in a comment. Texture and toning add a lot to this dark and mysterious photo where even a rock looks like decaying brain...

Love the subject, perspective and everything about the processing except the texture you applied. To bad, this would have been one of my top photos.

In my opinion this would look better without the color toning and the texturing, I would like to see a clean sharp photograph displaying true HDR.
