This was such a fun project to do.
I think most people think aliens look like some type of grotesque animal/human (think of all the sci-fi movies). Personally I think of aliens as "energy fields" rather than having actual form and shape (of course we probably won't find out in our life time what they really look like :-)).

In any case, I tried to portrait our, or most people's perception of aliens, as seen in the 3 aliens in the reflection of the mirror and look for the "real" shape/form of aliens, which may be totally unconventional to our thinking of "being". One could argue of course whether or not an "energy field" is in fact a "being", but then how would you define "alien" in the first place? ... I leave that discussion for another day :-).

The "aliens" in the mirror are actually the stamen and pollen part of an orchid. Other than the "pupils" which I enhanced with a brush, the rest is as it is - they make pretty good aliens I thought :-). I enhanced the color and changed it a bit to fit in with the whole image and I obviously duplicated (2x). The mirror was taken in one of the stables with nice morning light for the scene and grungy walls. The blue energy/alien I made as a fractal flame in Apophysis.

Hope you like, I had fun making it.

As an aside, when I showed this to my husband he said something about the "spider" ... there is no spider in this I said, but now that I have looked at it so much, I do think the glowing alien actually looks arachnid .... wasn't my intention at all :-)

Too bad, I was away and couldn't submit the originals in time, so this was DQed. I can't even see what score it ended up with - sucks a bit, but doesn't change the fact that it was 5th in this challenge - my best placing for Expert editing.

Disqualification Details
Per discussion with Kasaba, no valid original can be produced for the PNG file, so back to DQ :-(
