 Push-mower at the tool-lending library. And I didn't even procrastinate -- got it in a day early!

-Crop a little
-Resize
-USM at 16%/64 dia/TH = 0 (applied twice)
-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 10/12 = 694KB

I like the original quite a bit better in this case. The depth of field is the big reason that I see. But also the fact that it looks more like that tool has been out there for a long time.
