 I've searched and not found out the type of this bird...maybe a juvenile not sure... oh well, saw a couple in my front yard today maybe we get a nest and family...

I'm inclined to say Lesser Goldfinch as well, mainly due to the all-yellow beak. I was also leaning towards a Tropical Parula that wandered a little far north, but that's less likely.

Just a guess but maybe a black-backed lesser goldfinch. The range map in the Peterson guide includes central Texas.

I've no idea about the id of this bird, perhaps it's somewhere in the Big Month IV thread. My suggestion is: just post in in the thread. It's made in April!
