Hit 19 or 20 from my seat on the deck this afternoon between 3:30-5:30PM. Mostly backyard regulars. Missed 3 types of ducks flying over (darn, they're fast). I suspect I'll get better photos of at least 3/4 of them - it's only the first. :)

Birds everywhere a couple of days ago - even a Red Tail Hawk posing on a light pole feet from our office building. Today not so much. Narrowed it down and got rid of duplicates, leaving me with a count of 16. 300mm doesn't cut it when shooting birds 1/4 mile+ away. Some are TINY. Identifications are not my strong point, so whatever assistance (PM so we don't clutter the thread) you can give would be appreciated.
1. Coot - 2. Egrets (those tiny white specks) - 3. House Sparrow - 4. Mourning Doves
5. Red Bellied Woodpecker - 6. Starling - 7. Mallard Ducks - Medicalus Rotorus
8. Red Winged Blackbird - 9. Blue Winged Teals - 10. Baird's Sparrow - 11. Tree Swallow
12. Male Buffleheads - Female Buffleheads - 13. Turkey Vulture - 14. Canadian Geese
15. Great Blue Heron - 16. Male Hooded Merganser

Last month... snowgeese exploding, hawksaplenty, flocks of starlings stippling the maples, plus vacation in SW FL. Come April there's but fuzzy buzzards in the distance. Woe is me ;-) |

I spent the entire day on a tulip farm, camera in hand. Never saw a single bird, not even a crow. Got some great pictures of tulips with the long lens, though. |
