 Cat at the animal shelter.

PP - converted from RAW, straightened slightly, cropped, dupe layer/Gaussian blur/lighten/multiply, Nik CEP (tonal contrast, glamour glow), burnt eyes and nose a little, touched up reflection in pupil, desaturated blues, Viveza (darkened ears and nose), resized, Nik Sharpen, hand-blurred background noise and hand-sharpened nose.

Personally, I thought this challenge would be purrfect for moggies, but the submissions seem sparse. The DoF on the eyes is so sharp (a good thing normally!) perhaps the technique did not apply consistently across the image. Still I like the "glowing" whiskers. Six from me.

I'll wager this beauty rules your household, yes?
