 Image rotated 90 degrees clockwise, with further adjustments to line up on the right. Imported with Adobe Camera Raw. Processed with NIK CEP.

This housing sits, now apparently not "housing" anything, at a dock still used by local fisherman, with various other gear still in use. With that opening at the bottom, perhaps it once housed a pulley system for raising/moving crates of fish etc.

I don't know if its function required that undulating shape where the two halves joined. Obviously there had to be room to place the four bolts, but I like to think the individual manufacturing it was an artist, getting some extra enjoyment from carrying out this task.

Taken on one of my first outings with the Sony Alpha a7. I'm loving the detail I can capture. The low late afternoon light, just a few days after the winter solstice, was very special.

one thumb = top ten & hang on my wall anytime.
The photograph actually feels like a sculpture; more than it does a photograph. Beautiful tones and shapes, parts and whole in a lovely harmony. Thank you.
