Dang! THIS was a bunch of work!

I'd imagined a much more elaborate scene, but after my Photoshop crashed my computer a couple of times and I lost all of my edits since last save... I do try to be diligent about saving pretty often, but... crash! Arg.

Anyway, I think this will do well enough to suit my sweet model's efforts into the project. She's a very willing model. Dream! At least she got a free boob job. *grin*

I need to remember that Gyaban's Expert Editing images are almost all very darkly lit. There's a reason for that.

I started off with no lantern light... all brightly lit.

Darkness is your expert editing friend. :D

And yeah... I know that the necklace looks fake. I can't fix it ... no matter how much I've tried. *sigh*

Still... I'm happy with it... over all. :D

Beautiful work. The model is gorgeous, and the choice of delicate pastel tones suits the scene perfectly. Regarding the editing steps, in fact, I almost always start with a relatively bright scene: it is easier to darken parts (essentially to grab the viewer's attention to the remaining brighter areas) than to bring out details from an already dark photo. Of course it is not a rule, and great results can be obtained other ways, as you demonstrated here. Congrats on the top 5!

Not quite my top three hope for you, but still pretty darn good. Congrats on the HM, my friend.

Gosh this is good! Love the colours, the composition with the negative space. It is all just so perfect. I think this will be neck and neck with the masters creation. 10 from me.

Great outfit and model, very classy, The simple background works with her, I think if you had anything else it would take away the look of your model. Nice work

Lovely portrait. I love the cotton candy tones, but not wild about the overly liquified body. I also think some vignetting on the right would have created a bit more mystery.

Good proposal, maybe with less exposition it would be more "steampunk" but remains, for me, one of the best in this contest
