Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: School Days (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: Indiana, USA
Date: Oct 18, 2004
Aperture: 3.2
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/15
Galleries: Still Life, Advertisement
Date Uploaded: Oct 18, 2004

Glue spread thinly on my hand and allowed to dry, then peeled off, as children tend to do when their teachers are boring.

Photograph was taken at night on my kitchen table, lit by an overhead lighting fixture. The table was chosen as a background to resemble a student's desk, and I used the available lighting in the room because it was similar to classroom lighting.

Post-shot editing included Despeckle, a slight reduction in brightness and saturation, a slight increase in contrast, and Unsharp Mask.

Someone has too much time on their hands. Pun intended!

This is cool - I remember the days of playing with glue! :)

i use to love doing this. great original idea. i think the table doesnt make for a good back ground. i would like it better as a solid color.

Great idea

Oh geez, that brings back memories. Very original idea. I was thinking that maybe another composition would give the shot more kick, but then that might make the glue skin unrecognizable. Cool shot.

Who said creativity doesn't pay off here. Wonderfully done.

I remember doing that! Very original.

This just doesn't look appealing to me in any way. I don't like the wood grain and I'm not sure what this photograph is supposed to 'say'...

The sticky stuff of ole school days...I'm glad we don't shed. Some use of dof with the glue bottle a bit out of focus and the elimination of the glare in the bottom corner of the table would have improved your image. Clever entry though.

VERY creative! Perhaps a black background would have been better though. GREAT job though.
