Greetings from the Critique Club!
by Inspzil

Composition - Definitely meets the challenge. In terms of composition, I have an idea where I think you were going with this and also I can see why you didn't score so well. The first part - Looks to me like you chose the corner to show 2 different facets of the surroundings. One very bright, and one not so bright. The second part - The right side is pretty good. Good sky color but the rest of it is sort of dark. Its a little bit busy in the reflections. Of the 2 sides, I prefer this one. The left side is simpler which I think would've been better if the sky wasn't so blown out.

Photography - If you could've correctly exposed the left side, it would've made the right side so dark it would've looked like night, which could've been very good but it might've been too dark also. The angle this was shot is probably the key to this whole picture. If it were me, I'd have chosen to shoot this from the base of the building looking up or ground level away from the building a little to get one side or the other. Maybe shooting from the corner that this was shot but mostly straight up instead of straight on would've helped. This would've been a good subject for the perspective challenge.

Processing - The crop and colors look pretty good. Not much too add here

Overall - There is a lot of potential for this subject. I think the part about this photo that I did like was the corner and the contrast between the sides. I did not think the angle it was taken or the exposure of the picture were conducive to it doing well on the challenge. Hopefully this will give you a little insight. Good luck on future challenges - Inspzil

Beautiful building with great reflections. I love the color of the building. Could you have pulled back a little and let us see a little more without messing up what you were trying to show? I love the waves in the reflection. Great photo with really good execution.

I like this photo. The reflection in the building is a nice touch.

This fits both chanlenges very well. However it is not one of the pictures I would hang on my wall.

Too many things going on.... to dark as well. The day looks overcast - on days such as that, you might want to try B&W to create a more "abstract" look and to take the dullness of the sun away.
