I was told to be in line to go up to the top of the towers by 3:00/3:30...perfect advice. We were about the last group that was allowed to climb the towers.

It was a total of 400 steps and thank the good Lord above it was broken up!!!! On the last 130 steps I was leading the final group to ascend to the top of the towers. I thought I was going to die!!! I was gasping for breath, knowing there were others behind me and said "Oh, Mother of Pearl" most were of various languages...but "THEY UNDERSTOOD ME" and chuckled. It was a climb for sure. The for the 400 steps straight down!!! It was very tight, with steps only the width of my foot at the top. Halfway down I swear the tower was swaying!!! And once I got to the ground...my legs were shaking!!! Oh, but I'd do it again....the most beautiful view of the city...totally worth it!!!

*Hello from Sid and the Critique Club*

An excellent cityscape that contributes well to the open challenge

A great choice of viewpoint and title, the dominant placement of the gargoyle transforms the image from a straightforward landscape into something much more interesting, it brings it alive.

The lighting though dull is conducive to a good even exposure, there is plenty of good detail throughout. The one thing I don't like is the sharpening halo around the gargoyle which is a shame as it is such a crucial element of the image.

Apologies for the delayed critique, as they say, better late than never, Sid

Can't go to Notre Dame and not look from behind a gargoyle. What is amazing is that the view is the same. I took the same picture (of course! Like thousands and thousands of people before me and like millions afters me) from the exact same spot 35 years ago, 25 years ago...etc... The light changes, the clouds, the temperature, the traffic...But nothing esle. We need to go back there periodically....
