When I read the challenge description, I knew I really wanted to take part. This really wanting, of course, immediately blocked any ideas or inspirational thoughts straight away. Undauntedly, I pulled everything out of my kitchen cupboards that was made of glass.
Hours later, with my back and arm killing me holding the heavy D700 and, this time, my wonderful Tamron 90mm macro lens for a change, I was getting nowhere. So I rummaged through the cutlery drawers looking for something, anything to photograph. This time I wanted a “different” look. More colors, more… I wasn’t sure myself…
I came across a tiny glass cork thingy and did a couple of shots (see the outtake)

but it wasn’t unusual enough for me, although on hindsight, it appeals to me more now than it did then.
What to do, what to do… Then. I found a wine glass at the back of the cupboard I’d bought years ago in Bavaria. It’s for wine and made of clear glass (and I've never used it) but it has a handle. Did some practice shots and found that if I put the arm holding the camera in the sink and did my Quasimodo imitation real low in front of the glass, it all, at long last, came together.

Thanks a million for the super comments and score.

That sounds so familiar. Both the search for a worthy subject, and the Quasimodo contortions to shoot it. Congrats on the ribbon
