Bottom of the Pack Analytical Comments

Every challenge I am going to leave comments on some of the photos that finished at the bottom of the pack. I will try and explain why I think the photo did not do well in the challenge, which will hopefully result in increased rankings in your future photos.

-Ben

1) This photo does not immediately fit the challenge without your explaination. The photo should speak for itself and not rely on an explaination. It does fit the challenge if people think about it for long enough, but with 200 photos to vote on, most people will only look at your photo for a few seconds before deciding it doesnt meet the challenge and moving on.

my idea was... education = steps to follow :)

I really like your photo, although, I don't know your shot was related to the challenge.
My 1st consideration when judging a photo is how closely it relates to the
challenge topic, next originality and photo technique & quality are equally
judged.

I did think of school days when I saw this - specifically school holidays. I suspect some may say "why is that school days".....Ignore them. My only problem is the footprints do not look like a childs footprints and that is where I would heave it out in a competition. I am not saying it is NOT a childs footprint. Maybe a shell or similar would have just put the scale into it. Love the aspect and the high horizon. Reflections are great.

Don't understand the connection with the challenge. I do like the compositon though and the depth of field. I also like the strong horzontal bands in the photo.

Loved the photo but reminds me of what my dreams are like when my teacher is boring. Maybe this photographer did a lot of daydreaming in school to become an inventor or a great artist. School's out for summer points for changing my focus away from all these classroom photos.

This is a decent photo (although the narrow cropping is a bit stingy, IMO) but the connection to the challenge seems rather tenuous.

Scuba Class, right!!! (: No wait, Marine Biology!!!!
I take it you are as bored with these lame subjects for challenges as I am?
I think the last 4 or 5 challenges I have averaged around 4.3 because of being off topic.
