Isaac held this pose for three shots. Had to choose this one with the flash plus room light for the focus/clarity value. I tried to achieve a more natural coloring, but I'm not very good at that aspect (I have a common red/green color defect).

Critique Club critique:
Composition/Content: Great subject and a very creative way to "Say Cheese". I would like to have seen the cheese trimmed so it is not hanging and possibly shaped more like a smile, since this is the result you want when you ask someone to say cheese. The crop and framing is good.
Lighting: The lighting is a little unbalanced, with the warm natural light from the left and the cooler flash prominent on the right side of the face. The flash also shows some difficult shadows on the chin. I would like to have seen either a bounced flash, to make it softer, with a possibly a white reflector to fill in shadows, or, two natural light sources about 45 degrees on either side and in front of the subject. Either way, the lighting would be more even with softer shadows and the color would be more balanced.
Background: The background is not an issue and the shirt looks fine to me.
Camera Work/Technical: Good focus and exposure. I might have shot the picture with the camera a little higher than it is and pointing down a little to avoid the up-the-nose look.
Digital Processing: If you did any post processing it looks good because it's not overdone.
My Opinion: I think you have a great idea that could have been a great picture with a few adjustments as mentioned above.

Funny, but in a gross way. Might be a different reaction if it were his hands with a fistful of cheese ABOUT to take a bite... kinda like anticipating his muching? Dunno.

Nice focus on the cheese and a creative idea. Everything seems to be leaning toward the left though. Good job.

I guess this is a cute idea, but it's kinda gross :P. The lighting is a tad strong and uneven, casting dark shadows on the side of the child's face. I like the cropping though.

Great idea to meet the challenge. I might have chosen a different shirt on the child to help prevent the red reflections on the left face and neck, and maybe differ the lighting a bit so the left side doesn't look overly smooth. Very cute, nonetheless

hehehe, if he says cheese all the cheese is going to fall out of his mouth! ;) good idea for the challenge. great focus on the photo, and i like the way it is framed (that includes the frame, too). i really have nothing to add that i would've done differently. :)

funny idea.. making the cheese more symetrical in the shot might help... and something about the lighting bothers me.. but I can't deside what exactlly that is... color or intensity I think...

Thanks for the chuckles. The picture looks messy, but the concept is still funny. Jacko. 7
