This is my absolute favorite in this competition. In my opinion it should have placed higher, but congrats anyway.

I agree with graphicfunk, so surprised you didn't ribbon! Would love to know how you achieved the "painted" effect....

Congratulations on 7th placing. take note: this is by far the best composition in this challenge, the others excell with colors and the strenght of the landscape, but yours stands the highest in both mood and composition. An image to be very proud of.

This is my favorite in this challenge. The starkness of the buildings are a great contrast to the man. Very emotional 10

This is a great shot! Love the feel you have portrayed. Very elegant, and the person in the shot really sets it off!

Have rated this highly. Only thing that I dont like about the shot is the slight tilt to the right. Otherwise very well done! Good luck!

Not sure how you got this effect but it's very cool. Looks like a painting. Nice comp. The man adds an untold story to this. Gret shot.

You've achieved the look of a painting -- the dual tones of charcoal and peach set the mood and help tell the story. I like the composition -- the lights punctuate the image. One of my ribbon picks in this very competitive challenge.

I wonder why you had this validated? the soft colors are terrific in this shot. There seems to be a halo around his head. Did you dodge it out? if so, maybe a smaller brush would have worked better. This is one of my favorites of the challenge, and I hope you do well.

this is definately one of those 'wow' shots. the cropping is just right, the exposure is right on queue, the composition is very interesting. i like the glow or blurr you added (or at least it seems you added), makes the photo that much more appealing. good job, this is getting a 10 from me. its a tough challenge, lots of good shots, so i wish you good luck.

This image made me stop. It made me think and analyze. Absolutely love the angle and composition - the way you have captures space and scale with the main subject, the person. I do feel that making it a bit darker would make a bigger impact thought. Having said that, I am fine with how it is now. One of my top picks for a ribbon. Best of luck.

Very good. The height of the photo emphasizes the lonliness. Excellent composition and photo technique.

This is one of my favorites and I hope it does very well. Parts of it, most especially the fellow on the steps and the lampposts, look painted in. Unique among the entries. The only thing that bothers me a tad is the building in the background at left, wish it wasn't there. Still, a 9. Very beautiful!
