hope you don't mind, but i have some free time and thought i start making comments on randomly selected images...

i took a quick look at your other shots, and what i would say here fits with most of them as well. all of your shots exhibit technical proficiency in that they are well-lit and focused. they also have more of a dead-on, documentary feel than images that inspire 'wow'. my scores for your shots have ranged from 4 (here) to 7 (parts). my suggestion to you is to take advantage of the digital equipment and shoot from as many different angles and settings as possible until you hit something that blows you away. i think you're just a spark away from ribboning. keep shooting!

super sharp and nice colour, the composition feels a little forced to me though - too symmetrical with the pencils and eraser I think. still one of my favs for the challenge though.

Bright, colourful and happy - great lighting, sharp focus..... but Im still bored (Though really the same applies to ninety percent of the images in this challenge...so I'll lay the blame there for that - 6)

excellent still life has all the right ingredients.

Holy cow! This is so incredibly bright. And that's not a bad thing. Nice change from all the two-toned subdued entries. I'm a fan.

too much yellow - subject interesting but too bright - maybe white background would improve the picture - if you had a reflective surface/ book underneath you could of created a more 3d in depth shoot otherwise it does appear abit flat thanls to the lack of shadow

Nice choice for the background color!

What a vibrant school still life the yellow makes.

The colors are great. I like the flat, graphic quality you've achieved with the nearly shadowless lighting. You've managed to achieve that without washing out the bright colors. It looks like you knew what you were doing and got the image you were intending. There is something about the arrangement that is not quite right to me. I think it might be that the pencils, the eraser, and the block are all pointing in the same direction. I think if the pencils had been arranged so they pointed up and to the right the visual triangle that would result would have created a bit more dynamic tension.
