...like getting a Molotov cocktail, complete with bombs :-) It was pretty much my go-to idea from the start and I really hope it does well.
The martini glass is a composite of three glasses, one for the stem alone (which is now hidden by my hand but ah well) and two for their great splashes. The bombs are small styrofoam balls painted black, with fuses made from kitchen twine and also painted black. Had to shoot the cocktail sword separately to get the angle just right.Shot some sparklers for the sparking fuse on the one bomb, then simply 'shattered' the larger of the two bombs and put another sparkler shot underneath to make it look like it's exploding.
The shot of me was the easiest. Simple studio shot using the old warhorse, which works great on manual as a studio lens. Wearing various bits of my wardrobe from many other shoots. Was feeling lazy and didn't want to do tons of eye makeup so am hiding behind faceaters from the loonie store.
pp: yea gads you want a list?!...*sigh*...shot everything RAW. All components of the martini were shot individually, cropped and extracted before being placed into the main Molotov file, then all mashed up before being flattened and placed in the shot of me. Shot of me is a stand-alone. Shot RAW, brightness/contrast, vibrance, dodge and burn, cloning...usual stuff. Then flattened layers of this file, resized, sharpened, saved for web. |
