 A very simple concept that, frankly, isn't all that creative or interesting. But in my efforts to improve my technical ability, particularly with lighting I set my mind to deciding what the image was that I wanted to create and then trying to reproduce that on the screen as closely as possible. I'm happy to say that in this case what you see is almost exactly what I had in mind and as uninteresting as it is it represents some measure of success for me.

It's one network cable bent and coaxed into standing up. A sheet of yellow card behind and a 500w work lamp to one side. The brighter patch is sunlight from the window. The shallow DOF is intentional as I wanted to focus on the gold contacts at the business end of the connector.

I would be interested to see this shot without a contrasting background color. I think the current image has a harsh look to it.

Your choice of b/ground and the cable colour rally makes this photo 'pop'. Well done.

nice but a little to stockphoto like & i would have liked to see more focus on the boot for the cable (for lack of better words)
