Post challenge notes:
Regarding my choice of perspective, I was trying to achieve something that looked dramatic and felt a little like a castle up on a hilltop.

I commend you for going for a bit of a different perspective than the typical. Generally speaking, I really like the plants in the front and Like how well the black and white tones work. However, I can't help but wonder if maybe it would've been nicer to see a little bit more building and a little less plant. Or maybe even seen a little more sky (if the clouds are cooperating and looking interesting) just so that the viewer doesn't get lost in a sea of plants.

I still find this to be a really nice image though so don't be discouraged by my comment. :)

Good composition, and the image works well in b/w. Wish the clouds in the upper left had a bit more detail, but you can't control the weather.

consider sizing to 600 max on vertical side so that it all fits on the screen without scrolling

Too much bush and not enough house, but then again, maybe that's what you were going for. If that's what you're going for, I would have liked to see a little more variation in tones in the bushy area. I think I see some sort of trumpet flower, but it's hard to pick anything out. Everything's just kind of flat.
