If you use a tripod or a set place for the camera to be when taking the picture, you can put an item where your eyes (or other desired focused object) would be and manually focus it and leave the lens focused. Afterwards, place the intended item in front of the camera and voila!

It might take some trial and error but with practice you'll get the gist of it.

Aside from the out of focus aspect, this is a lovely image with great composition :)

Yes, or, if a remote is not available you can put your hand about where you think your eyes would be. Or have someone stand in while you focus....Great idea tho and nice even light.
Also, I notice your aperture was 10? Seems strange that the eyes wouldn't be in focus at that aperture.....

I like the concept, but it looks like the eyes are not in focus, and this detracts from the image.

She does have piercing blue eyes!! Wish they were a little more in focus though!

Love the cropped face but not the excessive negative space

nice idea, but since it's about your eyes, they need to be in focus!

Love the idea - composition and simple background work really well for ana avatar. I just wish you had nailed the focus.

Piercing indeed. I like the use of negative space.

Interesting composition--I think this would be much stronger with sharp focus on the eyes.

Yes they are :-))
Beautiful and love the headband, brings out the eyes even more, including the background .. very nice put together.

Not sure about seeing all of that top empty space, side space seems perfect :0))
