 I think we need the challenge every few years. My avatar was getting old, and nothing really prompts me for a new one like this challenge.

One of my first ideas included me being trapped in my new 14mm lens. So I shot the lens with a flash bounced off the ceiling to get some reflected light in the glass.

Then I photographed myself using natural diffused light coming from the right, and a flash with a honeycomb from the left. It's not in perfect focus, but it works.

Then I combined them. The lens as the base layer, myself as the next layer, and the glass of the lens as a third layer to make it look like I'm indeed trapped.

Now, if only I had shaved.
