 First day I've had the camera out since the 5th of April. I really should take it out more.... Went on a bike ride weekend trip to Atascadero and stayed in an awesome guest house there. They had chickens! (And horses, and cats.) Not much else to choose from, but I did like the light, lines and textures in this, so I hit a few of the challenge requirements.

Re-observed, re-evaluated and really appreciated. Sweet in many ways -- composition, tonality, textures and subject. That's a good-looking chicken. I did the math and had I given this image a rating more suited to its merit (subjective, as always) it would have advanced one place in the ranking. Sorry about that.

My husband was listening to "Slow Ride" by Foghat as I came across this image. It cracked me up, because I can just imagine the strut this bold little rooster must have as he patrols his domain.
