I'm too embarrassed to admit how much time I spent on this simple image getting everything like I had envisioned it... white balance... "age"... shadows...proportions.... *sigh*

At first I had it without the window frame. But... it "needed something over there"... *sigh again*

Then after I finally got what I had wanted... it still appeared unlevel... or something odd. I measured and measured... Everything said level on the image. I measured again. Then, again.

Still something off.

So... I straightened my crooked monitor. *rolleyes*

*heavy sigh*

First thought that came to mind: "nicely balanced". so you must have done something right. Hehe.

But it's true, the vertical lines seem to be floating about, instead of dead straight, because of the light and dark areas on the clock base, I imagine. For me, it just adds to it's charm.

This clock has a curiously stable presence in conjunction with the entirety of the composition. The eye keeps coming back to the unusual clock, stolid and self-assured. It resembles a flower or a gingerbread man. Decorous and good company (the image, that is).
