I shot this for the front of a program for the play, "The Exonerated", which the Players at my school (Carleton College) are putting on. Did a big levels tightening to achieve full silhouette, cloned a light stand out from from behind him, and dodged the light wall he was standing in front of until it was mostly black.

Superb use of lighting. I think the backlighting around his hair, body and chains really works. So too does the light on the floor infront of his feet. Very strong, emotive image.

Can't believe this didn't score higher.

Great backlighting. Would like to see this shot with the chain, just broken (maybe held 'in motion-horizontal') by unseen forces ;-) The 'digital noise in the shadows around the body give it even more of a halo feel. I like it a lot.

The face looks digitally enhanced antd turns me off from an otherwise adequte silhouette shot...

Great use of background and lighting. The highlight on the lower right is a bit too strong, but this is a uniquely composed image. I know I wouldn't hang it on my walls, yet its one of the few so far that made me stop and study it. This *is* very good work.

Beautiful and powerful ....10..i think the slight noise in this only adds to the atmosphere

I like how he is backlit, but I think I didn't get the message even not with looking at it 5 or 6 times (that could be me)

Crop out the bottom from the knees down, and you have a fantastic shot. Nice work, I like it.

Powerful, well composed, thought envoking. For me, it would have worked better without the reflection on the floor. Still an 8

trite!

is he tilted to the right? or does it just look that way because his chains are tilted and the floor boards slant? What would it ook like with a tighter crop? I'm not sure that all the shadows in front add anything. it looks like a canoe which is distracting
