- Main flash on the background
- Fill flash on the foreground to pop out the lemon a bit and ease the postprocessing,
- Camera on a tripod, remote in one hand, the lemon in the other, and ~150 exposures,
- Started with ices cubes, thinking that i was all out of lemons at home. Ice cubes tend to "sweat" the exterior of the glass and are kinda dull in color. I was so happy that i found the lemons :-)
Postprocessing
- Most of it was done in Camera RAW:
* Lens corrections,
* Noise reduction,
* Crop and straighten,
* saturation on the yellows and oranges,
* clarity,
* whites to the max :-)
* adjustment brushes to emphasize the lemon, desaturate the rest and even out the background (and overexpose it a bit)
* Some spot removal (unnecessary drops here and there)
- Spot healing brush, resize and USM (with Fade) in PS, then Save for Web.
My first advanced editing submission. Did i got a bit carried away and overprocessed the image?

I looked like that to me also.
I should have reshot it with a bit more exposure on the background, but the "studio" (one corner of my living room) was all cleaned and mopped up when i realized it. It was also 3am :-)
@jomari: It was my first attempt at this kind of photography. It is not as difficult as it looks given you have patience for trial and error. There is an excellent video tutorial at gavtrain.com (//www.gavtrain.com/?p=3724). Equipment-wise it is not that demanding either. External flash, some sort of off-camera triggering capability, tripod and a remote. The remote is not mandatory, but it helps a lot. You can get away with the self timer, but it will require much more tries.
One thing i will definitely try in the future is to use sparkling mineral water. I expect some nice details details from the bubbles. And i should have boosted the background flash a bit more (about a stop)
