Made my girlfriend lay down in bed and cover her face. She hates her picture taken but I forced her to do it : ).

I think all I did was:

Unsharp Mask
Contrast
Hint of Natural Beauty

I wish you had shown both eyes, they are beautiful. 8

Returning to make comments: This remindes me of old shots of Audrey Heburn and other glam film stars from the 1940's. Only two thinks kept me from giving this a 10. (1) the shine on the nose was slightly distracting. All that pancake makeup in the 40's keep the stars from showing any shine, and (2) there is a big white fleck of dust or fuzz along the bottom border. Aside from that, the "mysterious" placement of the face, the bit of hair obscuring the right eye, and the strong lighting all work well for me. Excellent work. 9

returning for comments
Very nice somber setting with great mood. being that it is the eyes, I would not have let the hair get in the way. Bumping up on good comp and very nice lighting.

Would have scored higher if I could have seen both eyes clearly , good picture though. Came back to this one , changed my mind , not seeing both eyes probably added something more to the picture , deserves a 9

a beautifully shot image, only comment would be to see more eye contact, but that would reduce the mystery - will do well, good luck - 10

I really like the composition of this shot, works wonderfully in black & white. I also like your choice of borders. Gives it a nice soft finish.

a very lovely pose and composition - the shadow cast by the nose is a bit too much and so is the shininess which detracts from the eyes - still , very good

Too bad about that stray curl in front of her left eye. Would have loved to been able to see both.

revealing the other eye would have drawn more attention to them as the title suggests.

a lovely emotional photo, she looks sad, I love the way her hair and arm frames her eyes

I find myself trying to see the other eye - The title suggests that I should....

Great foto, maybe she could have moved the hair from covering the one eye.

Beautiful shot, there were bound to be a lot of eye shots in this challenge, they are the most expressive feature, but you've done a great job of framing, and the model is really translating emotion well, great capture!

Nice pose. Super rich tones. The thickness of her hair is not bad also! The only distraction is . . . the nose needs powdering. BOL

Maybe some more DOF around the arm aera. It kind of looks like she is staring through a torn black cloth.

Or something about that eye? It seems to me that if the eyes are the subject, they should both be visible. Otherwise, very well done.

Beautiful image. I only have one nitpick...the title has our attention going to the eyes, but one of them is covered up by her hair. Still, the tones are lovely and the one eye that isn't covered by hair does draw my focus. Good work.

I think you accomplished exactly what this challenge is about. The light could be a bit softer, but overall this is a really superb shot. Great job.

Nicely done. I like the whisp of hair across one of the eyes, very good touch.

Shot is good but if the focus are on eyes then they shouldnt be covered.

Verry beautiful picture, excellent composition, but the frame doesn't help.
