this is a good shot of a still image. good range of detail and color. nice choice in lighting, surface, and in using only a part of the object instead of whole razor.

badly out of focus, to the point it detracts significately from the subject.

I love the colour and composition, I would prefer the DOF to have more in focus - but a great image.
As a newbie to DPC and Photoshop, I wonder how you created the colour imaging in this basic compo....

Out of focus. there's no excuse for that in a studio photo
There NO point what so ever for shallow dof here.

i guess seeing it in action would be better...while this is technically a "part"...you can see the whole thing (as in it is not attached to the handle), so it doesn't quite fit the challenge.
