 This is my first submission. I have been browsing the photos on this great website since I purchased my first digital camera and think I have already learned a lot. I am enthusiastic about improving my photographic skills by participating in the challenges. Comments welcome.

When I was a child I saw my Granny many times using this iron that was heated by charcoal.

No editing just cropped.

Great subject and lighting. The black background is perfect. Title probably helps the youngsters! Composition on the diagonal is very natural.

a studio piece, looks like a photo from Institue of Art. You did a good job with the still life and caught most of the interest of the piece without cramming too much in. Your lighting is very natural, not too harsh, but with enough fill to clearly explore the image. Looks really good.

Nice composition, coloration, tone and lighting. I like that there is detail in the shadows.

Perfect lighting and good exposure make the details visible, black background makes a frame which emphasises the subject very well. Nice job, like it very much!

Nice lighting makes this stand out from the background. Not sure how well it fits the Pieces title though, as almost all of the object is visible.
