Oh, Peter --

I heard of your passing today, and I cried. I'm so happy for you that it's over, and that you're pain free now. But I'm sad for our loss. It has been a true pleasure to know you. What an inspiration you've been.

I know I've done this type of shot before, but when I saw the challenge -- it's was my first and only thought on what I wanted to do.

Your spirit truly soared when you were here with us, but I also thought of how much you were going to truly fly soon. Free of cares and pain.

Bear thought I should title it: "and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest", but I just wasn't ready yet. But now it seems so right.

We'll miss you. Say hi to my mom up there -- she loved hearing about DPC, you guys would have a lot to talk about.

This is really good. I can not photograph a bird in flight for the life of me, but you did a magnificent job capturing this bird with your camera.
