This is near a ferry jetty on Lake Chuzenji. I had been there the week before (before going to school) when the ice was much more interesting, and the waves lapping over little sheets of ice made a delicious shlishling noise. It has been comparatively warm since then, with no new snow.
So, I reach the carpark and there's a busload of photographers taking pictures of the ice-covered trees on the shores.
The first time I ever went to Lake Chuzenji was on 11 Feb 1985 and there was a castle made of ice that my friends and I wandered around, though it had melted slightly. They don't make ice castles there anymore, though.
