Winter colors lurk within Fall colors, revealed by simple inversion. Peak foliage ended just before start of challenge here. But this tree's leaves turn to orange at season's end just, as snow begins to fall. Nautical twilight with patchy snow on ground, light rain falling, sky dark blue almost black; long exposure for lighting with 1 million candlepower spotlight moved rapidly over the tree and trunk while I run around so as not to show up (multiple attempts, quite the workout). Slight breeze blurred the leaves. Cropped, cloned a few light streaks, sharpened, curves. Not satisfied. Tried invert layer to evaluate tonal opportunities and, somewhat to my surprise, really liked the effect. Submitting despite knowing this will not fit most preconceptions. Resize, save for web. I am struggling to see how I can fit this in the scheme of the challenge. It is interesting and presents an out of the box approach, which I certainly appreciate, but...and that is where I stumble...I will be back.
