Lovely scene. The view up the creek draws your eyes in. I really like the coloration. Nice.

I agree with John's comments for the most part. Waterfalls do look very cool on longer exposures, but more true to life the way you shot it. (I'm more a true to life sort of guy). Very nice photo (I didn't vote this challenge)

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi David...

This is an excellent scene for a landscape photo. I particularly like waterfall shots, so this one does nicely :) My personal preference on waterfalls is 'soft water'. I'm not sure if you like that or not, but it probably could have been achieved in this shot with a smaller aperture. The smaller aperture would have created a longer shutter speed for this shot :) That's just preference though and I'm not sure if that was what you were looking for or not.

Compositionally, my opinion of this shot is that it needs some 'foreground' possibly. As I view this scene, it makes me think i'm standing in the water :)

This image also makes me believe that it would be stronger in black and white than in color also. The 'color' in this image is rather flat, therefore, it could make a stronger contrasting black and white image possibly...

Keep up the good work :)

This was one of my favourite pictures of the week. I'm surprised it didn't do a lot better!

A pretty photograph! I think if you had been standing on the left hand side next to the tree, and had taken the photograph that way, and if the current of the water followed deeper into the photograph, it would make more sense to me. I do like how the little stream curves to the left though, that is stunning! -Annida

Yes, it is serene and I like the contrast of the rushing water with almost stillness of the creek. Nice mix of colors and texture.

Serenity was a bad choice of title! I have to use the restroom now! excuse me.

This doesn't work for me; the arboreal chaos at the top and the speed of the water don't combine to give me much of a sense of serenity. I do like the reflections on the water at the bottom left, but this isn't enough of a saving grace.

A nice balance between the water and the trees...good exposure. did you try a vertical shot, with the falls at the bottow (duh) and more of the trees? That might have been more simple and effective...the more static foreground to the left could be left out. Nice shot.

You have surely captured the essence of serenity here. Looks like a lovely peaceful place just to sit and take it all in. I love the composition as well. Nicely done. GL.
