 Used some Starfruit slices and put them on a piece of posterboard with holes in it, and backlit them through the holes with no other lights on. Heavy color editing due to the orangish tint the light gave the normally light green/yellow fruit.

One of the best photos in this challenge. Probably not the wackiest food, but the picture is shot very well. What did you use for lighting under the stars?

My pick for the blue. The background stars could use more DOF, but I appreciate the extra creativity shown by making something special out of an already unusual fruit. The simplicity and brilliant concept really make this entry shine. (10)

Your lighting is superb! Composition - with the repeating shapes is also excellent. Exposure right one. This should finish at or very near the top of the pack

Triangulation of composition is always strong. Yours works nicely. I do however feel the overall shot is soft in focus. This is perhaps due to a wide aperture. I would think if you're wanting to include items farther back in the shot, you'd want to close down the aperture, lengthen your shutter time and use a tripod to get the image as sharp as possible. - 6

very pretty - when you look at a slice for a little while, the optical illusion of the glow seeming to shrink gives a dynamic quality to the photo. Is it wacky? Maybe not, but it's a good photo, anyway. I like it.
