Another bridesmaid from a recent wedding.

The crop is a bit weird but i was cutting out some extraneous elements. I actually quite like the finished crop but i often quite like slightly weird, off kilter compositions. I also like borders like this but they rarely go down that well.

The title is from a lovely novel by the late Russell Hoban - one of my favourite writers. Wasn't sure what to title the photo and it seemed to fit nicely.

Outstanding! I didn't get around to voting in this challenge so just viewing for the first time. The unconventional composition really adds to the feeling you've created. Congratulations on the well deserved attention. So many of your comments echo my feelings on this image and DPC.

My pick for the blue but down in 24th - that just about sums up DPC for me.

Outstanding shot.

Funny, I thought it was a centered composition. Now I realize it's off slightly to the left. I think that added a mysterious energy to it.

Only an 8 from me. How cynical I've become.

In sort of the hierarchy of things I have the shots I like, the shots I love, and then there are the shots I really wish I could have taken. This and your other recent bridesmaid shot are in this last category. This is the type of portrait work I hope I could capture one day. You are doing some beautiful work, Clive.

Beautiful portrait. The simplicity and the touch of color in the background make this outstanding.

What is it about this photo? I stirs some distant memory, so deeply subconscious that it is intangible and unfathomable - not a memory of another picture, but of a feeling, an ambiance, something... On one level I want to crop this differently - some off the right, more off the top, but I think that it would not then resonate the way that it does. The warmth of the colours is subtle, the warmth of feeling is strong. It is a wonderfully engaging image and has remained with me long after initial viewing. I'm back to bump this up.

Not so keen on the border but the image is great. Boosting a bit.

Gorgeous! The cropping is awkward to me (there's too much above her) but, in some ways it does sort of enhance the slight gawkiness of the child... Anyway, wonderful portrait, and it benefits from the wide white border.

this is absolutely perfect and fits the description of the challenge to a T.

this is photography to me...it's nice to see that, at least to me, seems like it didn't spend much time in post like so many of the photographs in this challenge as well as on the site in general.

the subject is beautiful, interesting and simple, the backdrop is visually pleasing, it has clarity without being too sharp, the colors, the composition and the WARMTH...you just nailed it.

it has journalistic value, tells a story or at the least draws one, and draws me in..can't stop looking at this one...

this is what i strive for in my portraits and photography...i hope i can get to this level one day...thank you.

simplicity is bliss...

love it.

thank you.

There's something about her eyes that show sadness, it's not a bad portrait quite compelling actually, just not sure of the the background, would of preferred the model to be in warm colors instead. I do like the white border nice touch.
