This was NOT the shot we were going to make!! First, we were going to try to paint mushrooms with glow sticks and then she was going to gather them by lantern. Then we decided against the mushrooms and were going to try gathering dead flowers by lantern. Since the lantern was bright, I brought a flashlight with to paint with light.

As soon as we got there, the flashlight ran out of batteries!

that obviously didn't work.

So we tried longer exposures and just using a flash to light the trees.

We really didn't succeed.

Moral of the story -- even if it looks like the flashlight batteries are nice and strong, bring extra anyway!!

what a great clearing in the woods, the branches look like lightning bolts pointing out the scene.

A very unexpected photo for this challenge, but I like it. I really like the dead branch coming in, it's almost like a shot of lighting.
